40 Years of Leakage
This is, without a doubt, the best leak that I have located since beginning our business in 1985.
A three acre lot with an old house was purchased in 1967. The sellers said that there was a natural spring on the lot. Early in 1968, the buyers who had moved into a house adjacent to the property decided to take advantage of the spring that they had observed all winter long.
First they allowed the fire department to practice on the old house by burning it. Then they excavated a nearby area for a pond. They lined it with bentonite to hold the water entering from the spring.
The owners stocked their pond with Bluegill and Koy fish and fed them daily. The peaceful setting attracted other wildlife such as ducks and turtles. The owners then completed their project by landscaping the area with benches and stones.
The shaded oasis in the large yard became a landmark of sorts not far from the city center. It was always ready to bring enjoyment to the passerby with it’s supply of fresh water for wildlife in even the driest of times.
That is until we located a leak for the city in October of 2003!
